Understanding Regional Talent: Offshore and Onshore Perspectives
Based on my observations, Bangladesh stands out with highly aligned skills and impressive growth in developer accounts, while Indian developers excel in supplementary knowledge and skill versatility. Pakistani developers, though strong, show potential for improvement in skill alignment and up-to-date knowledge.
In terms of future competition, India may face increasing challenges from regions like Bangladesh and Pakistan, where developer talent is growing rapidly and offering competitive rates. While India has a strong foothold due to its diverse skill set and established reputation, these regions are catching up, potentially narrowing the gap in terms of talent quality and cost-effectiveness.
Today, I want to share my observations on the differences I’ve noticed between candidates from various regions. Please note that this analysis is based on my limited data and personal experiences, and I acknowledge the possibility of being wrong in some cases.
In addition, I’ve conducted around 30 onshore interviews across diverse regions, including the USA, Brazil, the Netherlands, Pakistan, and Bangladesh.
I’m happy to share that, based on follow-ups with HR and feedback from organizations, many of the candidates I selected have been performing well.
